Book 2, Response 1
The book starts as he awakens
to a typical day on the mental ward and the aides make fun of him for being a bit of pushover,
even though he is six feet seven inches tall, they make him sweep the hallways
for them. I would include this scene because it is important because it induces
the characters that are important and give you insight about how they look and
how their personality is. It lets you know who the most important people in the
story are and how they are treated.
Today,
the wards rutine is interrupted when Randle McMurphy, a new patient,
arrives. McMurphy’s looks is preceded by hisloud, powerful voice and
his confident, iron-heeled walk. McMurphy laughs when the patients are stunned
silent by his entrance. This is important because it is showing a
another very important character and describing this charastericts and personality. It gives you insight on how the character will act thughtout the story.
